Comfortable, smooth and safe pretty much everything youd want in a family car, including sporty looks. Sharing its distinctive DNA with the Altea, the Toledo combines the look of a large saloon car with the generous interior space and large capacity boot of a
practical hatchback. It also adds a dash boldness and a sporty feel to appeal to the style-conscious buyer.
In the Toledo Hatchback range you can choose between 5 models. The engine range consists of 1.6- and 2.0-litre petrol units and 1.9 and 2.0 turbodiesels. The most powerful petrol and diesel engine each have a six-ratio gearbox as opposed to the five-speed gearbox on the smaller engines. A six-speed Tiptronic automatic is available on the 2.0 FSI unit and a six-speed DSG gives an automatic option on the 2.0TDi. All these engines and gearboxes are well-proven on other
VW group applications.
For the cost and green conscious amongst us, dont overlook the Toledo 1.9 TDI (105PS) with its 146g/km emissions (getting a VED rating C) and excellent fuel economy of 62.8mpg extra urban and 52.3 mpg combined.
The Toledo has not yet been through the official Euro NCAP crash tests, but the Altea (Using the same body and platform, plus identical equipment) scored a very impressive maximum five stars, so you can rest comfortable that protection levels are very good . Every car comes with twin front and side airbags, plus curtain airbags that run the length of the cabin. Anti-lock brakes with emergency brake assist and traction and stability control systems are also fitted as standard,
along with a collapsible pedal box to minimise injuries in the event of an accident. An alarm and deadlocks also feature on the list of standard equipment
There are three trim levels available, Reference, Stylance and Sport each offering good levels of kit. Even base Reference models come with air-conditioning, CD player and electric front windows.
Stylance trim add.s cruise control, climate control, and alloy wheels, while Sport models gain different alloys, sports front seats and a sports suspension
All models come with a 2 year unlimited mileage manufacturers warranty plus a further 1 year / 60,000 miles (whichever is soonest) retailer warranty. The combined warranty means that you are covered from the registration date of your car, for a total of 3 years
or up to 60,000 miles, a (depending on which comes first). In addition you also get a 3 year paint and 12 year anti-corrosion warranty and 1 year breakdown cover.

measures have also introduced to facilitate emptying of liquids.
