The 525i SE auto received the prestige What Car? Executive car of the year award in both 2006 and 2007. The 525d SE Auto was the 2005 winner, whilst the BMW 525d SE Auto Touring was one of the top three contenders for the What Car? Estate car of the year 2007. Available in Saloon and the estate Touring versions you can choose from 38 models - 11 petrol engines and 9 diesels in the Saloon and 9 petrol and 9 diesels in the Touring models. For an Executive Car of the year award winner the 5 Series produces fantastically economical fuel consumption figures for its class, as illustrated by the 520d Saloon which returns an incredible ultra urban mpg of 60.10 and a combined mpg of 47.90. It even obtained a VED Band D rating! Six airbags; ABS brakes, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control and Cornering Brake Control are all standard in the 5 series. Deadlocks and an immobiliser are in place to keep thieves at bay, while a visible VIN helps make the car more easily traceable in the unfortunate event it should be stolen All Fives come with wheel-mounted controls for the stereo and climate control, plus the iDrive system that works the stereo, ventilation and traction control. All vehicles come with a CD player and electric seats, while optional Comfort seats have active head restraints to cushion the head in a crash. An optional display projects vital information onto the windscreen in the driver's line of sight. Electric door mirrors, alloys, electric front and rear windows, air con, and cruise control are amongst the many impressive standard features available on most models. Run flat tyres are also available, so there's no need to stop to change the wheel if you get a puncture. All models come with a 3 year 60000 mile, 3 year paint and 12 year anti-corrosion manufacturers warranty.
