It is hard to switch on the TV or radio these days without being bombarded with stories about the effects or potential effects of global warming. The subject has even started to figure high on the agenda of most politicians - as evidenced by the government’s recent announcement on emission reductions.
Transportation, including the ever popular motor car, features prominently in the drive to diminish the destructive effects on the planet and to preserve the ever depleting supply of natural resources. Amongst the many issues facing the industry are the eradication of emissions and the reduction of fuel consumption.
Whilst huge advances are being made, the ultimate “Green” car is for the time being a dream of the future. In the interim, as doing away with a car altogether is not really viable for most people, concentration is being focused on those cars that are more fuel-efficient than average, produce less or zero emissions and that the manufacturer has made a special effort to develop innovative new technology or processes.
Here at Your Green Car we do not want, nor do we feel it appropriate, to tell you what best suits your individual needs. It’s up to you how “green” you want to be –at the end of the day even a more energy-efficient conventionally fuelled car will still save money on fuel, and make savings on the world’s limited energy resources!
